MSM Fail: Week after ‘Atlantic’ Concern-Trolls Palin Supporters, Gallup Has Her in 2nd Place

In an argument (usually a political debate), a concern troll is someone who is on one side of the discussion, but pretends to be a supporter of the other side with “concerns”. The idea behind this is that your opponents will take your arguments more seriously if they think you’re an ally. – Urban Dictionary

Before she’s even announced her decision as to whether or not to run for president, according to a new Gallup poll, Governor Sarah Palin currently sits in second place among 11 announced and/or potential GOP candidates. Gee, how did that happen? After all, the MSM told me Palin was irrelevant (usually in 1200 word articles obsessing over one of her tweets or the tweets of one of her staffers).

Ezra Klein’s sinister Journolist might be dismantled (though I suspect it lives on elsewhere), but “journ-o-lism” has always been alive and well and lately, when it comes to their unrelenting  and somewhat perverse need to demolish a mother of five, the corrupt path of Obama’s MSM Palace Guards has gone a little something like this: After pulling a minding-her-own-business Sarah Palin out of her Wasilla home in order to beat her about the neck and shoulders for causing that terrible crime in Tucson,  led by this rocket scientist, it was decided the time had come to ignore Palin and write her political obituary.

Indulge my backing up just a bit here …

You have to keep in mind that journ-o-lism is just another term to describe how dishonest journ-o-lists conspire to create corrupt narratives. Have you ever noticed how the MSM almost never competes for stories? What I mean is that nine times out of ten they all cover the exact same things with the exact same emphasis. Why is that?  You would think that in order to stand out from the herd, ABC News would sell a Whopper to compete with NBC’s Big Mac. Or that the Washington Post would come up with Pepsi to the New York Times’ Coke.  Don’t even get me started on Mountain Dew.

The reason for this is that the MSM isn’t about The News, it’s about The Agenda, and what they do is no different than what they accuse Big Business of doing. Only instead of conspiring through a secret monopoly with other companies to fix prices, they conspire through a secret monopoly of other media outlets to create a version of the truth –which we call The Narrative.  The word goes out and suddenly….

Boom: Donald Trump’s a racist.

Boom: Words like “Detroit” and “food stamps” are dog-whistles of racism.

Boom: Sarah Palin is irrelevant.

And my personal favorite Boom.

It’s a form of Orwellian GroupThink intentionally designed to turn up into down, wrong into right, lies into truth. And it’s a testament to how horribly misguided and failed the Left’s ideas are that the undeniable power of the MSM hasn’t yet been able to turn America into a member of the European Union.

My all-time favorite acts of journ-o-lism, though, are what I call the “foregone conclusion pieces.” The Left is hilariously transparent and devious when it comes to these and just last week The Atlantic’s Joshua Green tried to shut the Alaska Governor forever away in a drawer with this epic piece of concern trolling.

I don’t want to keep backing up here, but context is important and we as decent people must never forget that The Atlantic was the home of Andrew Sullivan when he made up the obscene Trig-Truther ruse as a way to attack and freak-show Sarah Palin’s family (that Matrix is exposed here). Sullivan is now doing the same from his new home at The Daily Beast/Newsweek, but The Atlantic is where it all started. These are not good people. And yet, after almost three years of Alinskying a politician’s family, guess what The Atlantic has finally decided to reveal…

As governor, Palin demonstrated many of the qualities we expect in our best leaders. She set aside private concerns for the greater good, forgoing a focus on social issues to confront the great problem plaguing Alaska, its corrupt oil-and-gas politics.

Hey, what do you know? Well, what I already know. Sarah Palin was a bold and effective governor who took on her own party and unlike our corporatist president, took on big business. Well, thank you Atlantic for putting down your political weapon marked “Down Syndrome Baby” and finally speaking the truth about—Oh, wait…

She did this in a way that seems wildly out of character today—by cooperating with Democrats and moderate Republicans to raise taxes on Big Business. And she succeeded to a remarkable extent in settling, at least for a time, what had seemed insoluble problems, in the process putting Alaska on a trajectory to financial well-being. Since 2008, Sarah Palin has influenced her party, and the tenor of its politics, perhaps more than any other Republican, but in a way that is almost the antithesis of what she did in Alaska. Had she stayed true to her record, she might have pointed her party in a very different direction.

Ooh. Ouch. Buzz kill.

Unfortunately Republicans, Sarah Palin just isn’t that Sarah Palin anymore.  And 5700 words (!) later, our concern troll uses the pages of Andrew Sullivan’s former toxic delivery device to close with this:

But Palin isn’t the type to feel regret. And her choice of a different kind of political celebrity isn’t likely to be her biggest obstacle. Rather, she’ll have to overcome a lack of experience, long odds of winning, and a Republican establishment whose leaders are deeply hostile to the idea of her candidacy. That’s why most people in Washington believe she won’t run. But in Alaska, they’re not so sure. The Palin they knew faced many of the same obstacles, and nothing about her charmed career, from mayor to governor to vice-presidential nominee and finally to global celebrity, suggests to them that she would ever be deterred.

Ohmydeargawd she might run and if her true record as governor is ever revealed The Precious One is screwed so let me try this.

The journ-o-listic result of the Atlantic’s concern trolling? Boom. Very effective stuff.

Except… Whoops. Time to rewrite the narrative. Or rerun the “Palin Can’t Beat Our Failed President” stories from the week before.

The MSM vs. Decent People is a war of inches, a tireless, relentless trench war that will never end. What can you do?

1. See the Matrix.

2. Become activists, especially online.

3. Spread the word. Politely and publicly hold these outlets accountable via Twitter, Facebook, and other forms of social media.

4. Don’t allow the media to tell you how to vote.

5. Fight the power.
