Pundit Press last month compiled a hefty list of articles, some of which were covered here, as a chilling exhibition of media hatred — bias seems unsuitable — towards conservatives, the GOP, and the tea party.
There are some legitimately non-hyperbolic editorials coming out from the Left. However– a disproportionate amount coming from actual establishment news organizations and writers should be cause for alarm. Yes, there is the regular alarm-pulling at the Nation and the Daily Kos– but there is a troubling trend. The most heavy– and even obscene terms are being thrown at the GOP. Below are just some examples from this month alone.

Of course I find it laughable that the media is abandoning blatant fact by ignoring how the party who controlled the whole of government for two years, tripled the deficit, refused to present a budget, and fought against the $4 trillion in cuts that S&P said were needed, cuts the tea party demanded, is somehow the victim. The victim of what, exactly? Themselves? For three years I watched, and for the past year I’ve chronicled on this website (along with many other dedicated citizen journalists) the media’s waffling on the influence of the tea party. When Democrats want to ignore the movement, they and their MSM pals laugh off grassroots as “irrelevant.” When they want to dodge blame for their own actions, they switch and say that the tea party is all-powerful.

So which is it? Either Democrats are so incompetent that they allowed what they define as a “small fringe of terrorists” to overpower them when they controlled the three branches of government or Democrats are so incompetent that their reckless policies contributed to the mainstreaming of the tea party movement and the repositioning of the GOP as being somewhat fiscally responsible? Only the party of President Downgrade could screw up the golden opportunity of a total congressional majority. Their base will be facepalming all the way to the ballot box if they’re not entirely demoralized by then.
Considering the above headlines, will Obama make a speech admonishing those in the media for their “vitriolic language” and calling for a New New Tone? Of course not. They allow him to stay above the fray and look like the bigger person. It’s their job to protect and defend; the same media outlets who panhandle for a government bailout are the same outlets who draw their daggers towards the President’s critics most dangerous to his chances at the polls. They are modern-day hellhounds guarding the failed, dead (yet sacrosanct to progressives) socialist policies of this administration who with every click of their keyboard write the epitaph of objective American journalism:
Don’t expect the White House to issue a statement condemning the “vitriolic language.” It won’t happen.
