Democrats Cheer Gaddafi’s Death: Whatever Happened To ‘No Blood For Oil!’?

Gaddafi is dead. He was killed in a bloody, merciless manner for which Barack Obama offered no apology. (Obama actually seized upon the death to warn “other dictators in the Middle East – and particularly Syria – that they could be next.”)

Now don’t get me wrong: I don’t think there should be an apology, and I don’t think he suffered enough. However, I can’t help but think about how the media would be all over George W. Bush for grand standing if Gadaffi had been killed on Bush’s watch and Bush had responded the way Obama has.

If you doubt this, just recall how people reacted when Bush said he wanted Osama bin Laden “dead or alive” (or when he said to the pipsqueak terrorists, “bring it on”).

Heck, even Hillary Clinton, who looks more haggard each time I see her, received no any major criticism for describing the Libya operation and the killing of Gaddafi thus: “We came, we saw, he died.”

The hypocrisy is more than palpable.

And who can forget late 2002 when war with Iraq was on the horizon and the hippies and freaks flooded D.C. to march around chanting “No Blood for Oil!”? Ironically, part of the bounty that the West may get their hands on via Gaddafi’s demise is Libyan oil – so where are the hippies and the freaks? (I guess they’re too busy eating the food Soros and the unions are providing them on Wall Street to really care right now.)

Yet it’s a fact that as early as September 2011, the UK’s Guardian was asking if this was a war for oil, and pointing out that the British and French sure made it look that way: “The British and French…are worried about future energy supplies. They are already pushing and shoving over who should get what of the energy proceeds before the political dust has even settled in Tripoli.”

Why are Susan Sarandon, Sean Penn, and the rest of Hollywood’s ready-made protesters silent? (Sarandon is only venturing out now and then to call the Pope a Nazi and talk of her support for the lefties occupying Wall Street.)

Folks, it’s the world upside down. Everything the left swore was so important while Bush was in office has apparently become worthless now that Obama is in charge. Now it’s okay to kill violently and celebrate it, to use that killing as an example of what might happen to others who don’t straighten up and fly right, and to do some of this with the ulterior motive of getting a hold of some Libyan oil.

When the mob took over the execution of Saddam Hussein, Bush didn’t like it. He thought it looked like a “revenge killing” that was out of control. When the mob killed Gaddafi, Obama threw his fist in the air, bit down on the cigarette between his lips, and couldn’t wait to identify with this mob the way he’d already identified with the mob on Wall Street.

Again, the hypocrisy is more than palpable.
