Andrew Breitbart-Magnificent Warrior

Andrew Breitbart was:

"The man in the arena...face marred by dust and sweat and blood...strives valiantly, ...knows great enthusiasms, ...great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who...knows...the triumph of high achievement,...if he fails...fails while daring greatly...his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat."  Theodore Roosevelt

Breitbart was no respector of the Progressive, Teddy Roosevelt. I wouldn't quote TR in tribute to Andrew Breitbart, except that Andrew was more committed to objective truth than to any other value. And the objective truth is that no one captured the essence of Andrew quite like TR. Breitbart was the very epitome of "The man in the arena..."

He lived life full throttle, pedal to the metal, flat-out, hair on fire, and loving the fight. He was a fierce and glorious happy warrior who chose the battlefield, engaged the enemy on their territory, turned their tactics against them and again and again, won the day for the cause. There has never been anyone like him. There will never be anyone like him. When in the arena of the cause, a force field emanated from Andrew and all knew he reveled in the fight. Through it all, his teeth would shine in his happy warrior smile. You knew Andrew was born for these times and you knew he knew he was born for these times. He loved the battle.

Andrew said, "It is no longer a choice to fight; I am compelled to fight." He was fighting "the war for the soul of a nation" in the new media. He understood the root-bound leftist bias of the mainstream media, was well schooled in new media and an inspired innovative trail blazer.

Andrew was motivated by the dishonesty and the "evil" of the Left. He was fed up with being called a racist for embracing constitutional principles and limited government and very effectively did something about it, again and again. Andrew was a self-described "reluctant cultural warrior."

Andrew's conversion to conservatism began with the Clarence Thomas confirmation hearings.  He saw the overt and blatant hypocrisy of former KKK'er Robert Byrd and womanizer Teddy Kennedy shamelessly grilling a black Clarence Thomas about minutiae that, even if all true, were no reason to deny him a seat on the U.S. Supreme Court. Andrew's eyes were opened to the real agenda of the NAACP, ABC, NBC, and CBS. His sympathy for Clarence Thomas was "utter and complete." Thus began the transformation of Andrew from liberal to conservative. Rush Limbaugh's talk radio and the impeached sexual predator president's defenders sealed the transformation.

Andrew Breitbart set about to hold the Left to the standard they had created to destroy their enemies. No one was more successful. Along the way our happy warrior took on and sometimes took out ACORN, former Congressman Anthony Weiner, insider trading Congressmen of both parties, the NAACP, and at every turn, the MSM.

He was a game changer. He understood the historical foundation of cultural Marxism, its mortal threat to our republic, and developed tactics to beat them on their turf with their own weapons. Except Andrew had one weapon they did not have. Andrew was driven by a compulsion to deliver the truth. He knew by experience when the Soros left would lie. He would then set them up and obliterate them with truth. He did it with  amoral ACORN and with the racism of the NAACP. He "took over" the press conference of former Congressman Anthony Weiner, because he was agonized by the attempted of cultural Marxism to destroy our civilization and because he was indignant that the mainstream media would impugn his integrity. Andrew was proven right at each turn.

Andrew Breitbart was a glorious warrior leading the fight to restore American liberty for the world, daring greatly, fueled by the justness of the cause and the  joy of the battle. As Greg Gutfeld said, "Andrew, you are in our hearts and in our heads. We all hear your voice. We are forced without choice to complete your mission."

"His place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat." Rest in peace.
