MA Senate Race- New Poll, Brown Leads

A new poll released by Suffolk University shows a statistical dead heat in the Massachusetts Senate race.
State Senator Republican Scott Brown takes the lead among likely voters over the state's Attorney General Martha Coakley- 50% to 46%. With a margin of error of 4.4% this race is neck-in-neck.
Heavy hitters from both parties will hit Massachusetts today- weighing in on the ultra-competitive race.
It's a face-off between former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani who is stumping for Republican candidate Scott Brown and former President Bill Clinton on the trail for Democrat Martha Coakley.
While Brown has repeatedly called on outsiders to stay out of the race, urging a focus on the issues instead, he is now welcoming help from "America's Mayor." The pair will stroll Boston's North End- the city's Italian section- shaking hands and doing some old-fashioned retail politicking. Republicans hope Giuliani's presence will help reinforce Brown's message that he'll be tougher on terrorists than his opponent.
Clinton joins Coakley for two rallies today- one in Boston, another in Worcester, Massachusetts- the state's second largest city. With several recent polls showing a tight race, Democrats have inserted a fresh sense of urgency into the campaign, releasing a slew of fundraising e-mails.
President Obama released an ad on the web yesterday, endorsing Coakley, calling on supporters to "put on your walking shoes again. Knock on doors, call, email, text and tweet. And make sure everyone you know understands the stakes for their families, for Massachusetts and our country."
A critical vote on health care reform is at stake- Coakley vowing to pass the Senate bill, Brown promising to vote against the measure and send it back to the drawing board.
