Last week Fox News Columnist/Contributor (now semi-retired) Brit Hume kindly offered Tiger Woods a route to forgiveness for his transgressions by suggesting that he become a Christian. Here was, one man to another offering a spiritual solution, a kind extension of a helping hand, which, were it not for its brevity, might have melted many a heart with its tone of sincerity.

Yet Hume was lambasted, attacked, derided, ridiculed, and there were even calls for him to be fired from Fox. What would spark such a violent frenzy of disapproval from that audience? Who would have such a violent reaction to such a noble gesture? Why would this be such a threat to anyone?
Sarah Palin gets a similar response.
No doubt you've heard the explanations as to why this is so: That Sarah Palin is attacked unjustly because she is a woman, and because she represents the Conservative version of Feminism.
But you know that's not true.
The reaction to Sarah Palin is the same that resulted when Brit Hume, who for all practical purposes is "one of the Washington Elite," offered Christianity to Tiger Woods.
Sarah Palin brings an element to politics so foreign to that field that she has been categorized as a "lightning rod" and a polarizing influence. The element she brings is the concept epitomized in the comment: "We support those who advance our core beliefs and lead by principle." This comment was made by Sarah Palin spokeswoman, Meg Stapeleton, in response to why Sarah Palin had not accepted a speaking engagement at CPAC.
POLITICO's Andy Barr reported yesterday that Palin took issue with CPAC organizer David Keene's soliciting two to three million dollars from FedEx in return for CPAC support against UPS in a dispute now raging in the Legislature. Barr says Palin made the decision to stay away from the CPAC conference because CPAC is "...a forum that will place special interests over core beliefs and pocketbook over policy..."
THIS is the reason Palin is attacked. This is the reason for the violent response Brit Hume got when he suggested Christianity to Tiger Woods.
To those for whom it is not overwhelmingly clear yet, I will spell it out for you: E T H I C S and M O R A L S.
And those, ladies and gentlemen, in this country, are based on Christian Culture, and Christian Culture is based on the Christian religion.
While our Constitution has indeed been assailed, it is against the institutions of our Christian culture that the National Socialists dedicate an endless amount of resources, money, and time.
They can always ignore the Constitution. They can change it, interpret it, and legislate against it, and they can appoint activist judges that will nullify its tenets. But they cannot ignore the foundations of our Morality, for those are the basis of our culture and our Lives. It is these that they must destroy. It is these Foundations from which spring forth our principles of Right and Wrong. From these we gain a Conscience, the guides to Life and Living and the route to Spiritual Freedom. .
This is the LENS through which the evil that they do is illuminated, and they must therefore shut that lens, that they may carry on with their agenda of Godlessness, the creation of a society in which their transgressions cannot be seen.
The existence or even the mere presence of one person, who epitomizes Ethics, or one who dares to offer Salvation to a lost soul openly on National Television results, if you will forgive the analogy, in a reaction like a vampire that has just been shown a Crucifix.
This is the rabid, insane, knee-jerk antagonism we see over and over anytime a principled Conservative speaks out about our values or about our beliefs, or speaks at all.
The LENS constantly reminds them (the Godless National Socialists) that they are mass murderers, and that they continue to eradicate Life, not in ovens or crematoriums, where they would love to robotically march every one of us into, but in their Nazi-Science-Quasi-Medical Abortion Clinics.
The LENS constantly reminds them that they are racists, and that they continue ethnic cleansing in this country with their Nazi-Science Birth Control, and that they have wiped out through abortion and birth control the future generations of certain ethnic groups within our borders.
