I have no idea why U.S. Armed Forces are in Libya, or why anyone would think that such a thing is a good idea. I want Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi dead but the U.S. could have accomplished that long ago and in a different way. So why are we at war with Libya now?
Did the Libyans attack us or directly threaten our national security? Would the rebels fighting the Libyan government be an improvement over the current government? Why are some people suggesting that we might send additional American ground forces into Libya? Is it somehow better for U.S. Servicemen to die for Libyan “freedom” instead of Libyans? Didn’t our Founding Fathers warn us about becoming involved in foreign conflicts?
I doubt we will ever receive sufficient, official answers these questions so I’ll drop them and ask a different one. If we want another war, why not abandon Libya and fight back against the Mexican War on the United States?
The Department of Homeland Security estimates that 11 million illegal aliens live in the U.S. I’m guessing that many of these illegal aliens came here by way of the Mexican-U.S. border. This amounts to an invasion and occupation of our nation. And that’s a bad thing. Correct? Or are invasions and occupations of nations only wrong when the U.S. does them?
The boiling point for me came in May 2010 when Mexican President Felipe Calderón denounced Arizona for having the audacity to attempt to protect its people. This was tantamount to saying that we have no right to govern our own nation; no right to stop his invasion and colonization. The Democratically dominated Congress applauded this.
Some have noted that the then-proposed Arizona law was similar to the law(s) of Mexico. While that is noteworthy, it is also irrelevant in the bigger scheme of things. The bottom line is that no other nation has a say on how the United States controls who we let in our nation. If Mexico wanted to eliminate all immigration laws and allow anyone to come into its borders at any time and for any reason, and thus cease to be a nation, then that would be fine with me. But that would not give Calderón or anyone else any moral or legal authority to demand that the U.S. cease to exist as well. The federal government exists to protect its citizens.
This isn’t a theory or opinion; it’s a fact. If someone tries to “debate” this with you he is merely distracting you.
Calderón returned to the U.S. in March 2011 so he could continue promoting his invasion. This should outrage everyone and he needs to be called what he is: an enemy of the United States. The White House and the U.S. Congress should perform their constitutional duties by securing our borders, deporting all illegal aliens (yes, it can be done), and telling Calderón to end his War on America. If Calderón refuses, then the Congress should take the necessary, constitutional steps to stop him and Mexico from continuing their invasion and colonization of the U.S. If the government does not do this, then it simply is encouraging violence and anarchy. After all, history demonstrates that people will only take being vilified, terrorized, and slaughtered for so long before they’ll defend themselves. In fact, every day the government continues refusing to do anything about the Mexican War on the United States is a day that the People should ask our officials, “Why are you encouraging violence and anarchy? Why haven’t you stopped the invasion and colonization of America?”
