U.S. Mexican Border Is A War Zone

In early April (PIT/TIP) Policia International Transfonteriza and The Transborder International Police had their 5th annual Training Conference in Houston, Texas.

Few Americans have a full appreciation for the degree of Drug violence along the US Mexican border. The mission of the PIT/TIP is to improve international communication and provide training conferences to address current criminal trends and activity in a trans-border environment. PIT/TIP strives to increase cultural awareness and networking between participating law enforcement officers from Mexico and the U.S. The conferences were established to foster interagency cooperation, sharing of successful techniques/best practices and to conduct case coordination.

Special Agent Jaime Zapata

The Drug Lords have hundreds of millions of dollars at their disposal. They have no value of human life. They will kill any law enforcement officer, their families, and their associates. The lawless violence and crime seems to be increasing with countless innocent victims. In essence there is an undeclared war on the US Mexican border. It is the law enforcement officers who are in the front line of the war. There are real, unrecognized heroes in this epic battle. Officers like Special Agent Jaime Zapata/ DHS-ICE, who was machine gunned to death a few months ago and the countless officers who risk their lives daily are the heroes.

The training agenda included the following: Survival Mindset, General Motors Security and Onstar System, Gangs, Use of Force, Making the Media Work for You, Human Trafficking, International Kidnapping, Homicide Wounds and Evidence Preservation, Money Laundering Car Bombing, Patron Saints of the Mexican Underworld, Cargo Theft, Mexican Investigation Liaison Program, Emergency Notification, First Aid for First Responders, Crimes Against Children, etc.

At the Houston conference the shared information between the Mexican and US police supports an already strong correlation between gang and criminal activities in the US and the Drug Cartels across the border. This may come as a surprise for those who do not think the border violence has not or will not spill across the Mexican border into the US. For this reason these Trans Border conferences are essential in the current Trans Border War. We are really in a War.
